Oakwood Avenue Primary School.

I was quite excited today as I was visiting another Warrington based school, and as I’m from Warrington I certainly want to make an impact in my local community.

I also didn’t realise that my nephew Joshua also attended this school so it was a nice surprise to see him in the assembly. Lot’s of gasps from the children when noticing all of my medals, and Olympic and Paralympic memorabilia.

I also had lots of hands up wanting to volunteer to come up in front of the assembly to hold the Olympic Torch and I chose Joshua to hold the Paralympic Lantern.

Another great assembly, it’s becoming the norm now that children are asking more questions about disability but also hate crime, stigma and bullying which is wonderful to hear and see.

Another successful assembly.
